Six fights into his UFC career, Paddy Pimblett has a rankings number next to his name. Pimblett, who picked up $200,000 in fight-night bonuses, is now the No. 15 ranked fighter in the official UFC lightweight rankings, thanks to his first-round submission win over Bobby “King” Green on the main card of the recent UFC 304 pay-per-view event. Other winners on the card who made moves in the rankings are interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, new UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad, and Arnold Allen.
Pimblett (22-3) was unranked heading into UFC 304, but his opponent was the No. 15 ranked 155-pounder heading into the event. Pimblett dispatched Green with authority on Saturday, capitalizing on Green shooting for a takedown in the first round. Pimblett jumped into a guillotine choke when Green shot, and then transitioned into a triangle choke that left Green unconscious at 3:22 of the first round. The UFC awarded Pimblett $200,000 in bonuses for his efforts, and the rankings team moved him to No. 15 in the division. Pimblett is now 6-0 in the UFC.Allen (20-3) opened the UFC 304 pay-per-view card with a decision win over Giga Chikadze.
